Storytelling events

In 18 “Storytelling libraries” there are more than 200 storytelling events organized per year. Events are with wide thematic scope but with one common motive to bring together the local people and through whom storytelling eventually develops the knowledge of the local cultural heritage and strengthens the common collective memory and identity.

There are also storytelling events for children and the youth in order to promote social skills of speaking in front of the audience, and listening to others.

The most valuable storytelling events are those where two generations are merged together.

Old people (sometimes grandparents) are invited to tell different stories to the youngsters in order to share their memories and wisdoms.

For the young audience there are also storytelling events where some stories from books are taken as a tool in order to develop creative thinking and generate new stories.
