Seminars and workshops
Every year UNESCO LNC organises for participants of “Storytelling libraries” various informal educational seminars and workshops.
The main experts who are working with network “Storytelling libraries” are Ms Mara Mellena, head of Traditional Cultural Society "Aprica" and Mr Guntis Pakalns, researcher of Archives of Latvian Folklore, Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art, University of Latvia.
They are sharing their experience in order to provide and improve methodology of storytelling, recording and working with local community. The main idea of developing the network is to promote storytelling as a mean to bring together different generations, safeguard and share with memories, and develop regional studies about local cultural heritage. However there are also other different lecturers invited to improve practical skills of storytelling and organizing storytelling events in “Storytelling libraries”.
