Local activities

Since Latvian National Commission for UNESCO and its network “Storytelling libraries” has been involved in “Grand treasures” project within the framework of European Union lifelong learning programme GRUNDTVIG sub-programme “Learning Partnerships”, there is a lot of experience gained abroad and shared at the local level.

Since 2011 UNESCO LNC and participants of “Storytelling libraries” organized many local activities which fulfils the common goal of the international project „Grand- treasures”.

The aim of the „Grand- treasures” is to create partnerships between organisations focused on preserving oral history and to promote an intergenerational dialogue in Poland, Greece, Spain, Estonia, Portugal and Latvia. The main idea is to support the process of sharing stories of Treasures with members of the local community in each partner country.
